OmniUpdate Holds its 4th Annual User Conference for Higher Education

Empowering Web Excellence is the Critical Theme

CAMARILLO, Calif. - March 7, 2008 - OmniUpdate Inc., the leading provider of Web Content Management Software (CMS) for higher education, held its annual User Conference March 2 - 4, 2008 at the Wyndham Hotel in Palm Springs, CA. The conference invites customers and partners to learn about and share insights on the latest in Web CMS and social networking technologies affecting colleges and universities.

This year's conference theme was Empowering Web Excellence, and featured interactive sessions and best-practice workshops designed to help OmniUpdate users get the most from their institution's website. Topics included XML/XSL, Graphics Optimization, Single Sign-On and User Management, Social Networking and Blogs. In addition, hands-on educational sessions were offered specifically focused on enhancing the user knowledge associated with template and page tagging as well as content repurposing.

Keynote addresses were provided by Nathan Gerber, Utah Valley State College Web Development Director and Dr. Pamela Cox-Otto, CEO of Interact Communications. Session speakers included Derek Tonn, CEO of mapformation, LLC; Darren Wacker, Higher Education Business Consultant, James Tower; and guest speakers from both Pepperdine University and the University of California, Riverside.

During the conference, OmniUpdate announced several new and upcoming products and services: Transcode-ItTM, a free service allowing users to quickly convert, upload and display any video as a high quality Flash video on their website; OmniUpdate Version 8.0, a new user interface greatly enhancing the speed and user-intuitiveness of its Web CMS; and the addition of Online Chat and Social Networking products through a reseller relationship with Hobsons EMT. According to Justin Gatewood, Victor Valley College webmaster, "This User Conference made me feel excited and challenged to try new things when I get back to campus, and the evening social event was one of the best that I have ever attended."
